School & Home Communication

Thank you to everyone that attended our Welcome Back Open House on Wednesday, September 12th.  It was great to see so many families – old & new – connecting at school and taking part in the various games and activities.  We hope that all families have enjoyed a smooth start to the new school year.

An important focus for our Welcome Back Open House was to give families an opportunity to meet their child’s teacher and establish a connection with the classroom. It is important that this communication continue throughout the school year and I hope that you had a chance to establish how you will communicate with your child’s teacher this school year.  Whether it is by written notes, school agendas, smartphone app, e-mail or text, school-to-home communication is vital to student success.  Please make sure you are in regular contact with your child’s teacher throughout the school year.

Communication from the school office about school-wide events and information relevant to all students is done primarily through the school website.  You can get this information by checking this website regularly or by downloading the Trillium Lakelands District School Board app from the App Store or Google Play.  Once you have downloaded the app, you can select Bracebridge PS as your school and receive direct updates from our website and calendar directly to the app on your phone.  We will also use Twitter (@BracebridgePS) and Instagram (@braceridgeps) for updates and sharing information.  Finally, we will be using School Messenger to directly message families with important reminders.  To receive these messages, please text “Y” to 978338 to connect (standard message rates may apply).  Be sure we have your up-to-date cell phone number on file in the office.

Finally, if you have questions or need information from the school, do not hesitate to call us or send us an e-mail at
