On October 4, Ridgewood Public School (RPS) hosted their annual Terry Fox Walk/Run at the Kinmount fairgrounds.
Leading up to the day, students gathered pledges and bought t-shirts, bracelets, and dedicated footprints to raise money for cancer research. In total, the school fundraised about $5,000, which will be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation.
“Our Terry Fox Run was a beautiful example of what can be accomplished when the community works together,” said RPS principal, Jane Austin. “The school has participated in 22 Terry Fox Runs as of 2023, raising over $95,600, as part of our commitment to service learning! I am so proud of everyone who joined again this year to make our Terry Fox Walk/Run successful.”
The day wouldn’t have been possible without the RPS staff, Devitt’s Bus Company who donated school buses, the local Lions Clubs who provided lunch, and the Kinmount Agricultural Society who donated the use of the fairgrounds. Thank you to all of these wonderful community partners!
