Upcoming safeTALK certification opportunity

TLDSB Mental Health Services is offering an optional after school certification session by safeTALK. This certifications trains individuals in suicide awareness and how to engage with people at risk and to connect them with professional resources / supports for appropriate interventions. The training is delivered by a certified safeTALK trainer.

Open to all staff and community members 18 years or older.
When: Thursday, September 28, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Where: Haliburton Highlands Secondary School library.

Please note, there is no cost for this session and a light dinner will be provided.

Please be mindful that safeTALK is a sensitive topic; individuals who register should be cognizant and comfortable with the focus of this workshop, which is to learn to become suicide alert and aware and to be able to assist in connecting at-risk individuals to professional resources.
